Pac Ngoi Village

Pac Ngoi Commune is home to the Tay ethnic minority community in Ba Be National Park. It is a small tourist village and has recently been popular venue for foreign and local tourists to experience home-stay and unique culture. A short trip from Hanoi to Ba Be Lake and its National Park in 2 days 1 night will lead you to Pac Ngoi Commune inside the park. Otherwise, you yourself can take a Thuong Nga bus departing from 6:00am or 1:00pm and then spend four hours on the bus before arriving at the central bus station in Bac Kan. Afterwards; you will have to take a smaller bus to reach Ba Be National Park and Pac Ngoi Commune.

In Pac Ngoi, there are about 20 made-of-wood stilt houses, which cater home-stay service for tourists. Each house preserves unique traditional features of Tay ethnic people, giving a glimpse of Tay culture to tourists, especially the foreign ones. Although modern architecture has presented, the traditional stilt houses in Pac Ngoi commune are still highly values and well-preserved. During the trip to Ba Be, tourists are suggested to take a wooden boat cruise in the lake in the middle of the vast limestone mountain range of Ba Be National Park, which is surrounded by cliffs with attractive forms and shapes. Ba Be Lake is formed by three smaller lakes including Pe Lam, Pe Lu and Pe Leng, spreading about eight kilometers in the north-to-south direction.
